Soccer Recap: Cy-Fair Comes Up Short

After flying high against Jersey Village last Friday, Cy-Fair came back down to earth. The Cy-Fair Bobcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Memorial Mustangs on Wednesday. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Cy-Fair's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5. As for Memorial, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cy-Fair will take on Stratford at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Stratford knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Cy-Fair likes a good challenge. Memorial has already played their next game (against Cypress Creek), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
