Volleyball Recap: Ottawa Victorious

Ottawa saw some tournament action on Saturday. They skirted past the Jefferson West Tigers 2-1.

Becca Meyer paced Ottawa's offense, picking up 16 kills. Meyer got some help from Leah Askins-Dieterich and her 27 assists. Meyer also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kirby Evans, each putting up two.

Despite the loss, Jefferson West saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Harriet Dean had 15 assists and five digs.

Ottawa's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Jefferson West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-6.

Ottawa has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Tonganoxie on the 23rd. As for Jefferson West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Silver Lake on the 23rd.
