Volleyball Recap: DME Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for DME Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas 3-0 on Monday. The - not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 16th (when they won 3-0).

DME Academy never let New Smyrna Beach on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 28-26, 25-13.

Mar Villena Dura had an outrageously good game as she had 29 assists and seven digs. That's the most assists she has posted since back in September.

DME Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in six consecutive matches.

DME Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-11. As for New Smyrna Beach, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
