Basketball Preview: Ogden International vs. Mather Rangers
Ogden International will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mather Rangers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Ogden International will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
Ogden International put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Victoria Soto 63-26 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-17.
Ogden International had a senior duo take command as Jazlyn Ortiz scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists and Zydrea Childs almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Ortiz has scored at least a third of Ogden International's points. Another player making a difference was Miyah Heard, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Mather made easy work of the Eagles on Friday and carried off a 49-28 win.
Ogden International has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Mather, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.
Ogden International didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Rangers in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 42-36 victory. Will Ogden International repeat their success, or do the Rangers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
