Basketball Recap: Dixon Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Grady Adams and Noah Wright

Dixon was the 76-69 winner over Heide Trask when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs came up short against the Titans on Tuesday, falling 74-54. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Titans 18-13 in the first quarter.

Despite the defeat, Dixon had strong showings from Noah Wright, who posted 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists, and Grady Adams, who shot 46% from the field on his way to 18 points. Wright's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Matt Bowers was another key player, putting up eight points.

Heide Trask's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trey Paffenroth led the charge by going 5-for-7 en route to 13 points in addition to six assists and three steals. Paffenroth is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathias Sonne, who scored 17 points and three steals.

Dixon now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Heide Trask, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Dixon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-49 loss against South Brunswick on the 3rd. As for Heide Trask, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Bladen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
