Basketball Recap: Cumberland Academy Comes Up Short

Cumberland Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. The game between them and the Grace Community Cougars didn't end well, with the Cumberland Academy Knights falling 52-33. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 43-29 back in November.

Cumberland Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Grace Community, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-8 record.

Cumberland Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hawkins at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Hawkins will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Cumberland Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Grace Community, they will host Brentwood Christian at 1:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
