Softball Game Preview: Ridge Red Devil vs. Bound Brook Crusaders

The Ridge Red Devil will face off against the Bound Brook Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ridge barely beat Franklin the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Red Devil's pitchers stepped up to hand the Warriors an 11-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Red Devil's hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Bound Brook waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pioneers, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Crusaders have posted since June 6, 2025.

Isabella Marusiak made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Marusiak wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mia Marusiak, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

The win got Ridge back to even at 2-2. As for Bound Brook, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
