Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Westfield Prep

Ecorse typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Westfield Prep proved too difficult a challenge. They secured a 68-62 W over the Raiders. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while the Raiders are ranked 186th).

The win made it two in a row for Westfield Prep and bumps their season record up to 7-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points over those games. As for Ecorse, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westfield Prep will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Tournament Opponent on the 23rd. As for Ecorse, they will welcome Rose Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
