Softball Recap: Lee County Comes Up Short

Lee County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 14-1 to the Scotland Fighting Scots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting Scots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in March.

Lee County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cherish Smith, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Lee County's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Scotland, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

Looking ahead, Lee County will be playing in front of their home fans against Chatham Central at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Scotland, they are taking a road trip to square off against Freedom Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
