Volleyball Game Preview: Catholic Central Cougars vs. Lakewood Vikings

Catholic Central hasn't had much luck against Lakewood recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cougars will challenge the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Catholic Central is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Catholic Central will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating West Catholic, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cougars came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 3-1 on Thursday.

Catholic Central had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-11, 25-22, 25-19.

Among those leading the charge was Cara Wolf, who had ten digs and three aces. Audrey Sokorai also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Otsego typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Lakewood proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 win.

Catholic Central's victory bumped their record up to 36-13-1. As for Lakewood, their win bumped their record up to 22-23.

Catholic Central couldn't quite get it done against Lakewood in their previous meeting back in September of 2022 as they fell 2-0. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
