Softball Recap: Evansville Central Comes Up Short

If Evansville Central was feeling good fresh off their 12-5 takedown of Evansville Harrison on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bears fell just short of the Southridge Raiders by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bears have suffered since May 14, 2024.

Elizabeth Nobles was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits.

At the plate, Evansville Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Glaser, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Evansville Central now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Southridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season.

Evansville Central is taking a road trip to square off against Jasper at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Southridge, they will host South Spencer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
