Baseball Game Preview: Easton Area Rovers vs. Pocono Mountain East Cardinals

The Easton Area Rovers will head out on the road to face off against the Pocono Mountain East Cardinals at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Easton Area has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Easton Area fell victim to Nazareth Area and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Blue Eagles by a score of 2-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Rovers were not able to get on the board.

Nolan Fuller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Easton Area saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Khamryn Singto, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Pocono Mountain East entered their game against East Stroudsburg South on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Cardinals fell just short of the Cavaliers by a score of 6-5. Cardinals fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Cavaliers since on Tuesday.

Vincent Gambino made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Triano, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Easton Area's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Pocono Mountain East, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 5-2.

Easton Area couldn't quite get it done against Pocono Mountain East in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can the Rovers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
