Softball Recap: Burbank Comes Up Short

Burbank extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-6. They lost 13-4 to the Muir Mustangs. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Burbank saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Lombardo, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was Lombardo's first of the season.

As for Muir, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Considering they have won five matchups by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Muir's side, Sidney Sims made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Sims has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.

In other batting news, Dailey Mitchell was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Raquel Paez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Burbank will venture away from home to square off against Glendale at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Nitros have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Muir, they will challenge Glendora at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 1.3, the Tartans 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
