Volleyball Recap: Legacy Christian Academy Comes Up Short

If Legacy Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Carlisle on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights fell just short of the Yellow Springs Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on September 11th.

Legacy Christian Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Yellow Springs into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking eight-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-14, 19-25, 15-25, 15-7.

Maggie Freuauf paced Legacy Christian Academy's offense, picking up eight kills. Freuauf got some help from Ellie Babione and her nine assists. Freuauf was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Legacy Christian Academy's defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7. As for Yellow Springs, their win ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 6-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Legacy Christian Academy will venture away from home to square off against Middletown Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Yellow Springs, they will head out to challenge Calvary Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
