Basketball Game Preview: Midland Bulldogs vs. Permian Panthers

Midland hasn't had much luck against Permian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Midland Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Permian Panthers at 7:30 p.m.

Midland is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They fell 50-40 to Odessa.

Meanwhile, Permian entered their tilt with San Angelo Central on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bobcats, sneaking past 49-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since December 6, 2024.

Midland's defeat dropped their record down to 10-22. As for Permian, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season.

Midland was taken down by Permian 84-31 in their previous matchup back in January. Can Midland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
