Soccer Recap: Piedmont Starts Season with Draw on the Road

Piedmont kicked off their season on Tuesday but they'll have to wait until their next match for a more definitive result. They and the Monroe Redhawks finished up their game with a 2-2 draw. Both teams had to tread carefully at times as the refs weren't afraid to hand out yellow cards: Jagger Jordan was handed one for Piedmont, while Monroe got theirs courtesy of Keven Lopez-Ramirez.

Kaleb Frost and Jonathan Alcauter scored both of Piedmont's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Piedmont will head out to face off against Asheboro at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Monroe, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against West Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
