Softball Recap: St. Johns Country Day Comes Up Short

St. Johns Country Day and Christ's Church Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but St. Johns Country Day had to settle for second. They lost 18-3 to the Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent loss being a 16-15 defeat back in April.

Gabi Oceguera was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

St. Johns Country Day has also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Christ's Church Academy, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 13-7.

While St. Johns Country Day had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
