Softball Recap: Carroll Has No Trouble Against Ray

Carroll won against Miller last Saturday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Carroll blew past the Ray Texans 13-3. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 11 matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Carroll got a massive performance out of Jaslyn Yzaguirre, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave Yzaguirre a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Benasia Ellison, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Carroll always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ray only posted an OBP of .286.

The victory made it two in a row for Carroll and bumps their season record up to 17-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Ray, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Carroll wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-1 victory against Alice on the 21st. As for Ray, they have also already played their next matchup, a 24-0 loss against Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial on the 21st.
