Basketball Recap: Casady Comes Up Short

Casady was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 72-53 bruising from the Cascia Hall Commandos. While losing is never fun, the Cyclones can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 294th, while the Commandos are ranked 14th).

When it comes to explaining why Casady lost, don't look at Carsten Lawrence. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 13 en route to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Lawrence a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Edwards, who posted seven points and seven rebounds.

Casady's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Cascia Hall, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Casady will look to defend their home court on Friday against Heritage Hall at 6:00 p.m. As for Cascia Hall, they will square off against Holland Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Cascia Hall's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
