West got themselves on the board against Clifton on Thursday, but Clifton never followed suit. They blew past the Cubs 16-0. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won nine matches by nine runs or more so far this season.
Laynie Davis made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mabri Warren was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kyla Shoppach, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
