Volleyball Recap: Schalmont Starts off Right with Win over Cohoes

Schalmont took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Cohoes Tigers. The Sabres haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Schalmont was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-20, 26-28, 25-19.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Schalmont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nadia Sawyer, who had 14 kills and two aces. Another player making a difference was Olivia Dagostino, who had 20 assists and one block.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Schalmont is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Columbia at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Cohoes, they will venture away from home to challenge Ichabod Crane at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
