Medomak Valley faced Brunswick in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Dragons 2-1. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Kristian Schumann was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Josh Blake Jr was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.

Medomak Valley pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Brunswick, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Medomak Valley will head out to face off against Leavitt at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Brunswick, they will face off against Edward Little at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
