Basketball Recap: Benton Takes a Loss

If Benton was riding high fresh off their 51-22 takedown of Byrd last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Benton Tigers lost to the Haughton Buccaneers at home by a 59-45 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 15th).

Benton's defeat dropped their record down to 19-11. As for Haughton, they pushed their record up to 25-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

When Benton and Haughton next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Benton will take on Parkway and their eight-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Haughton will try to stop Arcadia's nine-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
