Baseball Recap: Rittman Indians vs. Fisher Catholic Irish
Rittman had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Fisher Catholic Irish 10-0 on Saturday.
Christian DuBiel made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. DuBiel was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Caleb Smith was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brayden Louk, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Rittman wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-3 defeat against Berne Union on the 29th. As for Fisher Catholic, they will square off against Bishop Rosecrans at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The contest will give Fisher Catholic their first taste of in-conference action this season.
