Softball Recap: Inspiration Academy's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to 11

Inspiration Academy entered their tilt with Lake Wales on Friday with ten consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 11. They never let the Highlanders get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in March.

Not much got past Elle Hildreth, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Lake Wales off the board. Hildreth has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jade Carnahan was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.

Inspiration Academy's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Wales, they moved to 9-6 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Inspiration Academy is taking a road trip to square off against Bradenton Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.58 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lake Wales, they will be playing at home against Bartow at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Yellow Jackets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Highlanders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
