Basketball Game Preview: Limestone Rockets vs. Peoria Lions

Limestone hasn't had much luck against Peoria recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Limestone Rockets will head out to face off against the Peoria Lions at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Limestone is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since February 12th on Tuesday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Washington an easy 60-38 win. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Panthers are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, Peoria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by Richwoods 57-26.

Limestone is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4. As for Peoria, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Limestone was taken down by Peoria 75-34 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Limestone avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
