Volleyball Recap: Maloney Takes Down East Hartford in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Maloney had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the East Hartford Hornets by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won five in a row.

The final score came out to 25-23, 25-16, 22-25, 25-21.

Abdiel Cividanes was the offensive standout of the match as he had seven digs and two aces.

Cividanes wasn't the only good server: Maloney was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Maloney pushed their record up to 21-2 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for East Hartford, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Looking ahead, Maloney will welcome Darien at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East Hartford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
