Ashley Phillips made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two triples, three runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Leah Jones also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Lockport entered their tilt with Barrington on Saturday with 11 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 12. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Fillies/Broncos.
Kelcie McGraw made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). McGraw was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Lockport pushed their record up to 26-9 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Thornwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-9.
Thornwood's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Thunderbirds have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 10 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Lockport, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Thornwood continue to outrun the ball?
Thornwood suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Lockport when the teams last played back in May of 2019. Can the Thunderbirds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
