Volleyball Recap: Forge Christian Comes Up Short

Forge Christian lost against Eagle Ridge Academy on April 1st, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Fury came up short against the Warriors, falling 3-0.

While Forge Christian had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-22, 25-22.

Treyson Eye paced Forge Christian's offense, picking up seven kills. Eye got some help from Dennis Blinov and his 11 assists. Finally, Eye was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Eagle Ridge Academy found their leader in freshman Javier Pargas, who had 15 digs. Pargas has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more digs the last four times he's played.

Forge Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Eagle Ridge Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Forge Christian has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Windsor Charter Academy on the 21st. As for Eagle Ridge Academy, they will face off against Centaurus at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
