It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Jasper can now relate to. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jennings County Panthers on Saturday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2020.
The final score came out to 25-13, 25-17, 22-25, 25-20.
Despite the loss, Jasper still got an impressive performance from Haley Atkins, who had 24 digs.
Mallory Manowitz went supernova for Jennings County, getting 16 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Manowitz has posted since back in September.
With the defeat, Jasper broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 23-11. As for Jennings County, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 26-8 record this season.
Jasper does not have any more games scheduled as of now. After both having extra time off, Jennings County and Roncalli will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Jennings County sitting on four straight wins and Roncalli on 32.
