Baseball Game Preview: Jackson-Milton Bluejays vs. McDonald Blue Devils

For the second straight game, Jackson-Milton will face off against McDonald. The Bluejays will welcome the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jackson-Milton is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Monday just wasn't the day for Jackson-Milton's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of McDonald on Monday.

For McDonald's part, Quinn Schmidt made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Schmidt has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Schmidt wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jaxson Candel, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Chayse Hickox also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

McDonald's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for Jackson-Milton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
