Volleyball Recap: Holy Name Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Hayden Wells and Isabella Dinya

Holy Name extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-5. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Brunswick Blue Devils. The Green Wave were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Holy Name's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Isabella Dinya, who had ten digs and two aces, and Hayden Wells, who had 22 digs and two aces.

As for Brunswick, they moved to 2-9 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since September 12, 2024.

Brunswick's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from AdayIn Sheets, who had seven digs and two aces. Those two aces gave Sheets a new career-high.

Holy Name didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Lutheran West on the 8th. As for Brunswick, they will face off against Strongsville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
