Basketball Game Preview: University Bulldogs vs. Delta Panthers

Having just played yesterday, the University Bulldogs will jump right back in to play the Delta Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. University will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

University is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 53-45 victory over Holy Family.

University got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Janay Kravig out in front who shot 63% from the field to rack up 19 points. That's the most points Kravig has posted since back in December of 2023. Addison Harding was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 13 boards.

Meanwhile, Delta came tearing into Friday's game with 15 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.6 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Cubs by a score of 56-46.

University better keep an eye on Breezy Huff. She was instrumental in Delta's win, almost dropping a double-double with 27 points and nine rebounds. Huff is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Taylor Somers, who went 6-for-11 en route to 15 points and six boards.

University's record now sits at 27-0. As for Delta, their record now sits at 21-6.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: University has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Delta struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

University came out on top in a nail-biter against Delta in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, sneaking past 40-38. Does University have another victory up their sleeve, or will Delta turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
