Recap: DeMatha Stags vs. Archbishop Carroll Lions
The DeMatha Stags are ranked highly in their home state, and on Wednesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Archbishop Carroll Lions. The matchup between DeMatha and the Lions wasn't particularly close, with the Stags falling 76-57. DeMatha just can't catch a break and has now endured four losses in a row.
Despite the loss, DeMatha still got an impressive performance from Jacob Wallace, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Wallace is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Derek (Beau) Daniels, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and six blocks.
DeMatha's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Archbishop Carroll, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DeMatha will square off against the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Our Lady of Good Counsel is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Archbishop Carroll, they and the Knights will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
