Baseball Recap: Glacier Peak Takes a Loss

If Glacier Peak was feeling good fresh off their 12-1 takedown of Cascade on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Grizzlies fell just short of the Mercer Island Islanders by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Grizzlies of the 16-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2019.

Glacier Peak dropped their record down to 7-12 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Mercer Island, their record now sits at 7-13.

Coming up, Glacier Peak will venture away from home to square off against Cascade at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bruins have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.22 runs per game on average), something the Grizzlies will no doubt try to take advantage of. Mercer Island does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
