Basketball Recap: Collegiate Takes a Loss

If Collegiate was feeling good fresh off their 75-25 takedown of Fork Union Military Academy on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Collegiate Cougars took a 70-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Christopher's Saints on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Saints: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the loss, Collegiate still got an impressive performance from Aidan Gregory, who went 7-for-14 to rack up 27 points and five assists. That's the most assists Gregory has posted since back in December of 2024. Owen Odom was another key player, going 5-for-10 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Collegiate's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for St. Christopher's, their record is now 21-3.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cougars challenge the Tigers on Tuesday. Collegiate is facing Woodberry Forest at the right time seeing as Woodberry Forest is stuck on a four-game losing streak. St. Christopher's does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
