Basketball Recap: Wheatland's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Wheatland needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Brayden Zozaya. The Wheatland Pirates sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 46-43 win over the Lindhurst Blazers on Friday thanks in part to Zozaya, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 14 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Wheatland's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Lindhurst, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Wheatland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-42 win against Rio Linda on the 28th. As for Lindhurst, they will take on Rio Vista at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
