Softball Game Preview: Lawndale Cardinals vs. Hawthorne Cougars

Lawndale is 0-10 against Hawthorne since May of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Cardinals are taking a road trip to square off against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. Lawndale has given up an average of 12.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lawndale lost 19-2 to Santa Monica on Thursday. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wendy Rosales made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hawthorne came up short against Leuzinger on Thursday and fell 5-2. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Olympians recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Hawthorne's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Lawndale, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Lawndale might still be hurting after the 20-2 defeat they got from Hawthorne in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
