Basketball Recap: Thorne Bay Comes Up Short

Thorne Bay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 53-25 defeat at the hands of the Hoonah Braves. The Wolverines lost against the Braves in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 29-24 score last time.

Thorne Bay's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hoonah, the victory snapped their losing streak at eight games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-4 record.

While Thorne Bay had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
