Softball Recap: Yuma Comes Up Short

Yuma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 16-4 to the San Luis Sidewinders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sidewinders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-1 on March 11th.

Yuma saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derryel Medel, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Yuma's record now sits at 2-4. As for San Luis, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Yuma will face off against Coronado at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. The Dons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.83 runs per game on average), something the Criminals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for San Luis, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kofa at 3:45 p.m. on April 8.
