After a string of four wins, Pierce's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Wayne Blue Devils by a score of 37-35. The Bluejays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Wayne can attribute much of their success to Haley Kramer, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Addison Frank, who scored nine points.

Pierce's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Wayne, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Pierce will take on Lakeview at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pierce is facing Lakeview at the right time seeing as Lakeview is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Wayne, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-25 win against Boone Central on the 11th.
