Soccer Recap: Lincolnton Takes a Loss

After soaring to four goals the game before, Lincolnton was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Burns Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Lincolnton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Burns are ranked 86th).

Lincolnton's goal came courtesy of Luis Salas-Torres, who's now up to four this season.

Lincolnton now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for Burns, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0-1.

Looking ahead, Lincolnton will welcome Stuart W. Cramer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lincolnton are facing Stuart W. Cramer at the right time seeing as Stuart W. Cramer are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Burns, they will head out to face off against Cherryville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Burns will be up against Cherryville's rather soft defense (which has allowed 6.67 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
