Volleyball Game Preview: El Segundo Eagles vs. Redondo Union Sea Hawks

El Segundo is 0-3 against Redondo Union since September of 2024 but things could change on Tuesday. The Eagles will challenge the Sea Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

El Segundo will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Torrance, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Tartars on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Redondo Union and Skyview (ranked tenth and 22nd in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile match on Saturday. The Sea Hawks had just enough and edged out the Hawks 2-1.

If you add up the scores from across all three sets (61-59) Redondo Union actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-23, 15-13.

El Segundo's record now sits at 12-3. As for Redondo Union, their record is now 22-5.

El Segundo suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Redondo Union in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
