Volleyball Recap: Greenville Bears vs. St. Paul Lutheran Giants
Greenville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Paul Lutheran Giants. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.
Greenville took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-15, 17-25, 25-16, 15-7.
Ariel West paced Greenville's offense, picking up 13 kills. West got some help from Poppy King and her 16 assists. King was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.
Greenville now has a losing record of 2-3. As for St. Paul Lutheran, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.
Looking ahead, Greenville will face off against South Iron at 5:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for St. Paul Lutheran, they will challenge Oak Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
