Baseball Game Preview: Legend Titans vs. Ponderosa Mustangs

The Legend Titans will square off against the Ponderosa Mustangs at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Legend and Regis Jesuit, and Regis Jesuit kept the tradition alive. The Titans took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders on Wednesday.

Legend saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Silas Meuli, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Ponderosa had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Grizzlies by a score of 7-2.

Nick Moe looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ethan Alejo was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Hayden Silva, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Ponderosa's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Legend, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Legend hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Ponderosa struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs.
