Baseball Recap: Notre Dame Prep Gets the Win

Notre Dame Prep proved they can win big on Monday (they won by six) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Stratford Red Devils 8-7. The win continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Robbie Van Scoy, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Notre Dame Prep's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is 2-1 (and 12-18 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Joey Mignone, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Notre Dame Prep's victory bumped their record up to 14-19. As for Stratford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11-1 record this season.
