Softball Recap: Westlake Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Westlake, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Skyridge Falcons on Thursday by a score of 5-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 25-17 back in April.

Brilynn Attebery was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Buckley, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Westlake hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Westlake's record now sits at 18-7. As for Skyridge, their record is now 12-15.

Westlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Skyridge, they will face off against Lone Peak at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
