Basketball Recap: Panguitch Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Altamont on Friday, Panguitch came back down to earth. The Panguitch Bobcats received a blow on Saturday as they fell 44-26 to the Duchesne Eagles. The Bobcats' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Panguitch had strong showings from Katie Hatch, who posted five points, and Hailey Yardley, who had three points.

Leading Duchesne to victory were Lexie Davenport and Chezney Farnsworth. Davenport dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards, while Farnsworth went 6 of 14 on her way to 15 points. With that strong performance, Davenport is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Taesha Moat, who put up five points and seven rebounds.

Panguitch's defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-3. As for Duchesne, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Panguitch will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on El Capitan at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. As for Duchesne, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-32 defeat against North Summit on the 2nd.
