Basketball Game Preview: Central Cass Squirrels vs. Valley City Hi-Liners

Central Cass is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Valley City is on a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Central Cass Squirrels will welcome the Valley City Hi-Liners at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Central Cass is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Turtle Mountain just ended the team's 12-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 72-59 to the Braves. The loss put an end to the Squirrels' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Valley City didn't have too much trouble with Shiloh Christian on Saturday as they won 58-42.

Having lost for the first time this season, Central Cass fell to 12-1. As for Valley City, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Central Cass came up short against Valley City in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 50-42. Can Central Cass avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
