Football Recap: Carlisle Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Carlisle unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 32-24 to the Mt. Enterprise Wildcats on Friday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Despite the loss, Carlisle still got an impressive performance from Antonio Ibarra, who rushed for 107 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 159 yards on 17 of 24 attempts.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Kaegan Ash and Joel Otwell. Ash rushed for 136 yards and a pair of scores while Otwell rushed for 88 yards and one touchdown. Those 88 rushing yards gave Otwell a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Carlisle is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Overton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mt. Enterprise, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Alba-Golden at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
